Summary up to 500 words
Naomi, a young Jewish girl from Bethlehem, struggles with blindness caused by an evil eye. Her family and friends try to help her, but she finds solace in her faith and the hope of regaining her sight. When Naomi's father takes her to the Pool of Bethesda, they meet a professional letter-writer who shares his own story of suffering and longing for the Messiah. As they wait for the angel to stir the waters, Naomi's brother Ezra prays for her healing, and she is miraculously cured by the touch of the Christ Child. The family is overjoyed, but their happiness is short-lived as they soon learn that King Herod seeks to destroy the Messiah. In a desperate bid to save the child, Joseph and Mary flee to Egypt with Naomi's little donkey, Michmash, carrying the precious burden. Naomi's dreams are filled with visions of the Christ Child, and she feels a deep love for Him. When Ezra returns from his journey, he brings news that King Herod seeks to destroy the Messiah, and they must flee quickly. Naomi's family decides to send Jonas to Joppa with Deborah, the vine-dresser's wife, who is traveling there in a caravan. Naomi offers her little donkey, Michmash, to carry the Christ Child on their journey to Egypt. As she watches them depart, Naomi feels a sense of awe and reverence for Jehovah God, who is keeping watch over His people. She knows that the Messiah will come again, bringing light to all the world.
